Summer is fleeting.
We complain about the heat and humidity and sweat and bugs,
but soon we will be shivering and complaining about the inches of snow on the ground
and the blah brown landscaping.
There aren’t many days left with skies like this.
So why not hop in the car and take a little road trip.
Today’s destination: a vinyl sale about an hour and a half away
Hitting the open highway in search of musical treasurers from the past 4 decades
Hmmm…which way should we go?
Drive for miles, past the fields of corn and soybeans
in search of pieces from the nations musical timeline.
In the end you end up winning on mutliple levels.
You enjoy beautiful blue skies filled with cotton ball clouds.
And you get to find little vinyl pieces of history.
Wrapped in aged brown paper with weathered edges.
And sometimes you will find a special treasure that makes it all worthwhile.
Going yard-saling can be boring, but sometimes its the best part of your day.
The saying ‘one persons trash is another persons treasure’ is the motto of yardsales,
and this years treasure hunt is coming to an end.
Farewell summer…see you next year!

I am new to you. I love the peppering of the cloud photos thoughout. It makes me feel the ether of your day exploring. My favorite, like several others is the green and blue shot. Interesting that this would capture so many. It's striking because the image is so strong. GREEN and BLUE. It speaks to the wonder of the world singing to us around us – a big sky and big field growing…there for the gazing.
Thanks for capturing it.

My fav is your motion-blurred shot of the field as you drove past. I can just FEEL it! Love the slight angle to it also. Nice job.
